Predictably Unpredictable: Life
We all leave the warmth and security of our homes every day
whether it is to go to work, college, do errands or visit a friend, with the
safe assumption that we’ll returning safely to our house, family and lives at
the end of the day. However, the reality is that while we would like to believe
that we will always be safe, life does happen and there are people that wake up
in the morning, drink a cup of coffee, read the paper, leave the house and
never return. People lose their lives every day and the reasons can be many
including a sudden heart attack or a tragic car accident. Regardless of the
reasons, it is important to remember that life is short and we truly don't know
what each day will bring.
How often have we left for work without a goodbye or a hug?
How often have we left angry and full of resentment refusing to forgive or
resolve an issue with someone we truly care about? I guess this is something we
can all relate to and have experienced at some point in our lives.
Life is full of experiences big or small. Emotional or
physical. Every experience teaches you more of life and you value it more
because you feel at that moment it’s gone.
It’s strange how life works. One day things are going
“business as usual,” you are planning for the weekends and next day, something
can happen out of the blue that causes everything to change. Life is
unpredictable. It usually happens when we least expect it. That’s what I am experiencing for some time
now, as I was driving in my side lane. I got no idea what really happened at
that very moment. After sometime when I got in my senses I realized I was in
the accident. I picked myself up. My shoulder, knee all were injured. I was sitting
on road expecting someone to help. That time I realized those movie scenes are
true where no one help.
This made me think— “Help whenever and whoever you all in the need
you will get a thank you but that’s enough”
And when something unexpected does occur in your
life, good or bad, it’s OK if it throws you off your game. If it’s favorable,
bask in the excitement and enjoy this unexpected event.
